Why Do People Like Heavy Metal?

I mean, how the heck does someone get totally happy off of what most people would call 'satanic noise'?



I totally heart metal. But I can't really understand why. Part might be that I grew up with hearing Steve Vai so much, 'Whispering A Prayer' was my lullaby. But tastes always change.



So I was wondering, how did all you metal-heads out there get into metal? Because I really doubt we all knew who G3 was before Richard Scarry.Why Do People Like Heavy Metal?
It's their preference.
It's one of those things that's nearly impossible to explain.



I think part of it is the versatility of it all. One minute it can go from a beautiful neo-classical solo to a raw death metal beat down.



Beyond that, I really have no idea. It's addictive, once you've had it, you can't get enough of it.

I love the talent/ creativity, the spirit of it, the atmosphere ... Everything. I love to play it I love to live it. METAL ingraved into my DNA. I am Metal!


When I was Young kid, Metallica and classic metal bands got me into it.
Now I listen to Thrash, Death, Black/folk and funeral doom (and a few others)

Haha, I grew up listening to screams and learning what pig squeals, growls, etc. etc. were. My dad listened to it. lol! So yeah, I guess that's how I got into it. My mom hated it, but I really liked it and so did my dad.



I think people like it because they actually find the art in it once they give it a chance. You can't be a musical snob (wow, that term has come up a lot tonight! lol!) and turn your nose up at everything. Well, you can, but it's not right.
My uncle introduced me to bands like Iron Maiden, Queensryche, Motley Crue, etc. Then I just took it from there and started discovering all different bands like Anthrax, Obituary, W.A.S.P., Flotsam and Jetsam, etc. and ever since then I've loved it
Why do metalheads like metal? Why do dumb little girls like pop? Why do dipshit gangsters like rap? Why do rednecks like country? Nobody knows. We just do. Don't question it, just love it! \m/
I got into Metal after listening to Metallica and Slayer several times when I was about 7 or 9.

I like Metal because of... Well... Everything about it! It just dosen't have a downside, in my opinion.

I like metal because it has a good sound. I like the heavy guitars and the screams. It is still the best without screaming vocals.
I like it 'cause I've always been into loud music. A lot of metal is actually quite profound, not just meaningless "noise" like noobs would be so quick to judge.

I heard Waking the Fallen from A7X way back when and they really crossed me over from rock and classic rock into metal....then like we all do...we go heavier and heavier and heavier....

its vocal is so different and music give us to much entertainment so i think people like heavy metal.
Pople have different taste in music thats all.
